Ireland

Well, it's not as easy as we'd thought to find Internet access and keep this updated whilst on the road ~ apologies for infrequent postings!

But Ireland...'tis a beauty. And we wouldn't haven't seen it as gloriously if not for being on bicycles. My body is exhausted from the riding, but the scenery; the rock walls, the moss-covered tree forests, the ivy-covered ruins, the babbling brooks, the coast and wildflowers all surpass the expected. I spent my first two days frustrated with the pictures we captured, or rather, didn't capture. Now I want to pitch the camera, because we never seem to be able to stop and shoot something that quickly passes ~ however important those images are in the mind's eye.

We ride 30-35 miles a day and everyone in the family would report differently, but I, Colleen, am wiped out at the end of each day. Now, that is not to say that the accordion and guitar music in a pub can't revive me, but my thighs are aching!

We've connected beautifully with our host cyclists ~ a family from Kerry Pike (near Blarney) with children similar in age to our own. The giggles never cease and we'd recommend the week's adventure to any of our friends.

Tomorrow we ride for the last day before leaving Killarney and heading to England on Thursday. Bless you all. We miss you!

Hey guys!! The Walsh's are really envious of your fabulous time in Ireland - Home of the Walsh Clan!
We miss you dearly, but we are so excited to be traveling vicariously around the world with you. John Thomas started football practice this week - it is 102 degrees in the shade and we (the coaches) are telling 10 year olds to 'suck it up'...does that qualify as child abuse? Oh well, he seems to have a good time with his buddies. As you may recall, Simone and I bought a new mountain house...we moved in on Memorial Day weekend and began converting the basement to liveable space. We are finally done, and Simone cries every time she has to leave. Yesterday she told me the Charlotte home needed a makeover...Charlie, running away to Europe definitely is appealing right now!! :-)
I was just going over the Jackson Hole pictures....such wonderful times. We sure hope to join you in a foreign country, just keep us in your plans and stay in touch.
We love you and pray for your health and happiness daily.
Take care,
Tom, Simone and JT

Hey guys! I am glad to read about your journey. I'm sure that more than just your thighs are hurting you after 30-35 miles per day! :P
I was reading Exodus 7:3 this morning and something just jumped out at me that I want to share with you. God told Moses, "I will harden Pharaoh's heart." I have prayed that God soften people's heart but never thought about Him hardening someone's heart. After I read that verse I realized once again how much control the Lord has over everything! He can soften and harden people's hearts. Who else can do that? It made the fact that "He can do ANYTHING" come alive. I am learning everyday that it's true, He is in control. So while you are on your journey maybe you'll come across a moment when you need to know how much control He has and you can hold on to Exodus 7:3. Love you guys and miss you. Sandy
